MUIR, John - Putnam

Mr. John Muir, father of Mrs. Wood Browning, an old settler died at his family residence in Parke County June 24 of paralysis of the brain.  He was born in Scotland in 1812, his age being 79 years, 6 months and 20 days. He was the father of 16 children, 11 of whom are living; he was a member of the Presbyterian Church and died in full triumph of the Lord; he often talked of death and said he was ready and willing to go; he was a kind husband and a living father; none knew him but to love him. His remains were interred at union Cemetery on Sunday. - kbz
